Frequently asked questions

How do wars work?

A round is a single day's word. Everyone in the war plays the same daily puzzle, and your score for that round is the number of guesses you needed.

Every participant tied at the lowest score wins the round — so if two players both solve it in 3, they both take the round. A puzzle you lost, or a day you didn't play, counts as a miss and wins nothing.

A battle is the first participant to 10 round wins, and you have to win by 2. A war is the best of 5 battles. Rounds lock at midnight Eastern, which is when the day's results are tallied.

How do I report a problem, a bug, or another player?

Email support@wordwarduel.com with a short description of what happened.

To report a player or content — an offensive username or profile image — tap the next to that player in a war or on your team, then choose Report Player. You can also Block Player there to hide their name and photo from you everywhere in the app. We review reports and act on them, typically within 24 hours. You can also email support@wordwarduel.com with the username and a screenshot.

How do I delete my account and my data?

Open the app and go to Profile → Delete Account, then type DELETE to confirm. Your account and personal data are removed immediately and permanently — this can’t be undone.

We permanently remove your profile, username, photo, email, subscription link, and referral credits. Game results you shared with other players are kept anonymized (shown as “Deleted Player”) so their match history stays intact. See the Privacy Policy for details on what we store. If you can’t access the app, email support@wordwarduel.com for help.

How do I manage or cancel a subscription?

Subscriptions are billed by Apple, not by us. Open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then tap Subscriptions to change or cancel. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Refund requests go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Full details are in the Terms of Use.

I lost my streak or a score didn't count.

Game days run on Eastern Time and a round locks at midnight ET — a game finished after that counts toward the next day. If you played and the score still looks wrong, email us with the date and your username and we'll look at the record.
